Exploring the Front Yard!

We usually hang out in the backyard, but one afternoon last week, we moved the circus to the front yard, so Braiden could ride his trike.

Braiden's "old-new" trike from Freecycle

Silly Daddy, trikes are for kids! :-)

Noah got to try it out too. He is becoming very coordinated!

Mmm, yum. Car horns are tasty.

Noah in his typical mood - happy.

9 Month Pictures (+ Others!)

About a week and a half ago, Michael took pictures of the boys, at a lake near us.

The boys have been busy playing together and getting over the stubborn colds! Noah is crawling away, pulling up to stand, and sitting up from crawling. Braiden is busy with his cars, friends at our playgroups, and is saying more words! Most days, the weather has been more tolerable, so we have been on the go go GO!

Noah in Action

The boys playing together about a month ago.

We have some new videos for you:

First one has Noah scooting, and Braiden greeting you. :)

In the second one, the boys are in the playroom. Noah discovered maracas!

So what's going on with us? Same old, same old (not that it's ever boring!). The boys keep us busy from dawn to dusk, and we are having so much fun with them. Fall has brought different activities for us to do during the weekdays, and we have really enjoyed making new friends! Right now both boys have colds (although Noah's runny nose could just be teething), so this week has been quieter.

Happy 23 months to Braiden! Amazing, only a month to go until his 2nd birthday...

Noah Is 9 Months Old!

I'm 9 months old today!

Enjoying a banana.

Brushing my teeth - 3rd one just came through today!

Comfy? The way both boys always sit in the highchair!

Haircuts and Doctor Visits

Noah had his 9 month appointment today! He is 21 lbs 5oz (9,667 g) and 29.5 inches (75 cm). No shots today, woohoo! Everything looks well, although he is starting to exhibit "white coat" anxiety...

He is really mastering his elbow crawl and loves to find every speck of dirt on the floor. Life really is wonderful now that he can dish Braiden his own medicine: stealing toys!!

Before... and after!

Braiden, aka Shaggy Dog, finally got a haircut. It looks pretty nice, despite the restraining that we needed to do at first. It was getting really long and since he has Daddy's thick hair, uncomfortably hot.

It's official... I'm in a blogging slump. Bear with me here, while I try to get at least a weekly post up. :-)

I'm on the Move!

Today, Noah started commando crawling! He inched forward several times today to reach all sorts of things; so much, in fact, that his elbows have carpet burn. He also crawled all over Daddy in the evening.

The real fun starts now, as the two boys will be headed in different directions soon...!

Our blog has been quiet for the last week. It's just that our life has been kind of... mundane. Not in a bad way, but it's been full of errands, playground visits, chores - you know, the everyday stuff!

New Videos

Braiden ready to go bye-bye, in Uncle Scott's shoes on Saturday.

Noah just keeps on growing! He is loving the finger foods he has gotten to sample... Click here for a video of Noah being Noah, while eating Cheerios. He is becoming stronger and stronger too, and we think crawling isn't too far off. He pulls himself up on his knees a lot and gets around a little bit that way.

Here is a video of Braiden playing with a police car (he is very much into drilling these days), and more "Noah being Noah" moments. In the end Braiden shows off some of his signs. Speaking of which, he has been talking a lot more! Most of his talking is still "gooberish", but we have already lost count of how many words he has now. Good job!!! No 2 or 3 word combos yet, but he does combine words and signs into little sentences.

Braiden is really into pretend play. He goes bye-bye a lot (usually borrows the biggest pair of shoes he can find), and loves to "eat" and "feed". For the last couple of days, he has also been very willing to share his blankie and binkies... mostly with odd objects though, like fire trucks and bicycles on the road. He extends the object towards them and says something in gibberish. Sometimes he is a little miffed when there is no response.

During our trip, Braiden apparently learned to do puzzles. Here is a video of him from this morning... to our amazement, he finished the puzzle like a pro. This afternoon, while running our errands, we picked up two new ones. Click here to watch him do one of them - first time he ever even saw this puzzle. What other hidden talents does he have that we know nothing about?!

Pictures from Our Evening Walk

Braiden and Noah have had a wonderful time visiting their cousins! We've done all sorts of fun things (many visits to the ice cream farm, trip to a children's museum, etc) but most of all, we've just enjoyed spending time together. Thursday night, Michael flew in and surprised the boys. What a joyous reunion that was on Friday morning!! Braiden has been glued to Daddy's side, Noah hasn't stopped giggling, and the older boys have been challenging Michael to lightsaber duels. :)

Sadly, time is coming for us to go home... Thanks, Sis (and the rest of the gang!) for having us, and for all the help these past two weeks!

Some pictures from our walk tonight, most taken by my sister.

Latest family picture! We walked over to the neighboring farm to check out the animals. Braiden now knows that turkeys say gobble-gobble!

Noah's relaxed pose in the wagon. What a ride!

After the farm, we walked over to the pond. Braiden discovered the joys of throwing rocks in the water!

First of Many!

Braiden and Noah took their first bath together tonight! They both enjoyed it so much that this might just be the norm from now on.

Here are other assorted pictures from my phone:

Noah enjoying a... plastic plate.

Annabel, Andrew and Noah watching Braiden's antics.

The latest craze: feet drumming.

This little man is seriously in love with water and sippy cups! The other day he had somehow gotten a hold of Braiden's cup and was enjoying his whole milk...

Yes, that's right. Eating PB&J with a fork.

What a big boy!

Last but not least, here are two hilarious videos of Braiden dancing to his own beat tonight (sorry Sis, we totally wrecked the lego room!!! :-D). Click here and here to see them.
